[cobirds] DFO Monday March 28

Loved by few and hated by many, the Double-crested Cormorant is taken for granted by most birders.  At the March 28 DFO meeting, Bob Stocker and Chuck Hundertmark will share their thoughts on “The Double-crested Cormorant: Exemplar of Human/Wildlife Conflict.” In an interactive presentation, Bob and Chuck will explore cormorant biology in the context of increasing conflicts between this highly successful ecological competitor and our own rapacious species. The program will examine the status of this species in Colorado and will look in particular at the Denver City Park breeding colony. The program will be enriched with photos that may turn a few skeptics into cormorant lovers.
Denver Field Ornithologists meets Monday March 25 at 7:30 pm at Ricketson Auditorium at Denver Museum of Nature & Science.  Park on the north side of the building and enter thru the security/volunteers door between 7-7:30pm.  Free and Open to the public.
