FIELD TRIP: Denver Parks Bird Walk
LEADER: Karen Bickett. Observers: Kathanne Lynch and 4 others,
LOCATION: Bear Creek Park. Raleigh St at Hampden Ave., south Denver (southeast of Hwy 285 and Sheridan)
WEATHER: 46 degrees, 100% overcast, Winds SW 10mph
ALL SPECIES LISTED (also posted on eBird):
270 - Canada Goose
18 - Gadwall. 9 pairs swimming 2x2 together.
12 - Mallard
1 - Cooper's Hawk near previous year's nesting location.
2 - Red-tailed Hawk. 1 adult, 1 first year
1 - Am. Kestrel
5 - Ring-billed Gull
1 - Rock Pigeon
1 - Eurasian Collared-Dove
1 - Mourning Dove
1 - Downy Woodpecker
9 - Northern Flicker
8 - Black-billed Magpie
4 - American Crow
3 - Black-capped Chickadee
1 - AMERICAN DIPPER. Singing under bridge. This is a far downstream location on Bear Creek for mid-March, so hopefully someone will follow-up to see if there will be a nest here this year.

3 - Song Sparrow. Singing.
