[cobirds] Black Hollow Reservoir Gulls

Greetings All

Visited Black Hollow Reservoir near Ault, Weld County, early this afternoon
There were 2000 or so gulls present, including 4 black-backed gulls, all of which were Lesser BB Gulls, and one of which looked much like the bird Brad Biggerstaff labeled as a Lesser Black-backed Gull. Can't say for sure it's the same bird, though.

So, totals
5 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS (3 adults, 1 subadult, 1 first year)
1 THAYER'S GULL (adult)
1 MEW GULL (adult)
1 GLAUCOUS GULL (adult)
1 FRANKLIN'S GULL (adult in spankin' breeding plumage)

It was odd that, though there were many Cal Gulls and a fair number of Herring Gulls present, there were only 3 "brown" immature gulls (thus excluding young RB Gulls): 1 LBB Gull, 1 Herring Gull, and 1 California Gull.

At Jackson Reservoir at first light, at the north side of the reservoir, there is still a TUNDRA SWAN, just a different one, with less yellow on bill and no neck collar! There were also 25 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and about 500 Snows with a sprinkling of Ross's Geese mixed in.

Near the intersection of Bijou Creek and the S Platte, near Fort Morgan, we had 4 Wood Ducks, 4 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, and an early COMMON YELLOWTHROAT

At Woods Lake in Weld County, there were nearly 10,000 geese, including 9 Ross's and 20 Snow Geese

That covers most of it
