The City & County of Denver are starting a "Lights Out" program this fall. The program has three phases. The first phase involves (ongoing) surveys of migratory bird's injured or killed by strikes with buildings in downtown Denver. (Subsequent phases will include work with building owners and the city to change building practices and policies, to create a more bird-friendly downtown.) Denver Parks and Rec is looking for volunteers for the phase one surveys. If you're interested, please directly contact Alex Halverson at Alex.Halverson@denvergov.org. Alex can provide you more information about the surveys and the program.
