Hi folks,
-- Today was our first day of fall banding out at Chico Basin Ranch. We set up nets this morning and opened as we went; combined with the early heat it made for a shorter day. We did have a burst of activity around 9am, before things heated up. Here's our summary for the day, 18 newly banded birds in total:
Wilson's Warber: 9
House Wren: 2
Western Wood-Pewee: 1
Yellow Warbler: 2
Orange-crowned Warbler: 2
Warbling Vireo: 1
Swainson's Thrush: 1
We are open 6 days a week, closed on Sundays. This week we will be opening nets around 6:30am and closing around 11:30 or possibly earlier due to heat.
Come visit!
