Gulls have returned to Horseshoe Lake in northeast Loveland. In the southwest lobe of the lake this evening (5-6:30 pm) there were about a thousand gulls, almost all adults. Rough numbers were 800 California Gulls, 200 Ring-billed Gulls, 10 Herring Gulls, 7 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 1 Great Black-backed Gull and 1 Iceland (Thayer's) Gull.
