[cobirds] Bluebird Hat Trick in Boulder County

This morning on the South Mesa Trail, within half a mile of the Trailhead, I encountered Western, Mountain, and at least one Eastern Bluebird. I even got a few photos with a Mountain and Westerns in the same frame. All told, I think I saw over 20 bluebirds, but it was tough to count because they were amidst a flock of 80+ Robins.

And if that’s not enough blue for you, there were also Scrub Jays in the same area, and Steller’s Jays a bit up the trail in the Ponderosas.

If you go, keep your eyes open in the vicinity of the fire station on Eldorado Springs Drive, as there were also Western Bluebirds hunting from the power lines and fire station parking lot.

There are photos of each species with the checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S54380674
