The DFO Field Trip for Tuesday, January 24 will be to South Platte Park led by David Suddjian (dsuddjian AT gmail.com; 831-713-8659). Meet at 0745 at the south end of South Platte Park near C-470. From C-4700 take the Platte Canyon Rd/South Platte Park exit. From Platte Canyon Rd at Depew St, turn southeast onto the entrance road for South Platte Park. Continue past a 90 degree left turn and the first parking lot, and meet in the second parking lot.
Will begin scoping South Platte Reservoir with a chance for interesting waterbirds, then explore the river corridor of the southern area of South Platte Park, and pro balby walk south of C470 into the area of Chatfield below the dam, and visit other spots nearby. Be ready to walk on snowy paths for 1+ mile. Dress for the weather. Bring snacks and drinks. Register online or contact leader.
