Subject: Huerfano County Update: Varied Thrush (female), White-throated Sparrows, Winter Wren
After weeks of a "birding drought" here in Huerfano County was quite a good day.We received a report of a female Varied Thrush through Beverly Louck-Jensen yesterday, and went with her to check that out this morning. The Varied Thrush showed briefly, but quite well, at the home of some fellow birders.
Photos may be seen at CFO Facebook page.We then decided to walk our trusty dog Scooter around Daigre Lake. We came across a nice mixed flock of :1 Spotted Towhee6 White-throated Sparrows, that was quite a lovely surprise!1 Song SparrowIn the same area was a Winter Wren!We had a small flock of Bushtits with 1 Juniper Titmouse mixed in...all in all a very nice morning.
