[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report- September 23, 2024

A cool and quiet morning at the station today. Of course, there were a few Wilson's Warblers. Seven bird species were captured. An Eastern Phoebe was hanging out around the banding station for a bit. Maybe we will catch it to band sometime this week.

17 New Banded Birds
Wilson's Warbler- 9
Audubon's (Yellow-rumped) Warbler- 1
American Goldfinch- 2
Lincoln's Sparrow- 1
Green-tailed Towhee- 1
Hermit Thrush- 3

2 Recaptures
Wilson's Warbler- banded on Saturday- gained a bit of weight from first capture. I imagine it was a rough couple days trying to find food.

House Wren- banded on the 18th. It is hanging around getting fatter. It was caught on Saturday and today.

Stop by the Banding station and share your sightings. I would love to hear them. The banding station will be open this week Tuesday - Saturday from Sunrise until @ 11:30 AM.
Remember to go to the Aiken Audubon Society website for registering for birding access to the Ranch.

Have a great Day!
