At 3:30 this afternoon (8-2-20) my grandson Jack and I stopped by Little Gaynor lake (after TedFloyd's reports of shore bird habitat there) and saw 4 Avocets, 3 Wilson's Phalaropes, 1 Semipalmated Sandpiper, 4 Baird's Sandpipers and at least 10 Killdeer. The birds moved progressively west where the light was poor so may be other species there. Earlier in the day probably better time to check it out. Good birding. Bill Fink. Longmont
