Birders,
I relocated a wintering Long-tailed Duck from the dam at John Martin Reservoir at around 1 p.m. today, March 9th. I returned with Norma Verhoeff at 5:30 p.m., and the bird was still present at the same spot, just west of the dam and very close to the south pullout. As usual, Norma captured an excellent photo of this outstanding bird.
Curiously, this bird was all by itself, and was the first bird I saw on my arrival today.
Respectfully,
Duane Nelson
