Really Interesting. Swallows must be pooling in Pueblo before busting north.
I birded a number of ponds, bodies of water last sat/sun in Colorado Springs - 4 Barn Swallows at Fountain Creek Nature Center. Not a swallow elsewhere.

At Pueblo Reservoir, Pueblo County today, there was a basic plumage Red-throated Loon, three breeding plumage Common Loons, a breeding plumage Red-necked Grebe, a Caspian Tern (perhaps the same bird, was seen over at Runyon Lake later this afternoon), and two Red-breasted Mergansers (along the River) were the best birds probably. There were thousands of swallows (all six normal species were found), though no luck with any interesting swifts on this cloudy day. Lots of Franklin's Gulls showing off their pink color, and Bonaparte's Gulls as well. No interesting warblers, and not that many Yellow-rumpeds for some reason. Over 80 species of birds were seen on the MAMBO (Monday Birders, from mostly El Paso County) birding trip around Pueblo Reservoir today.--Brandon Percival
