Re: [cobirds] Palm Warbler - Golden - JeffCo

Sondra and I and a couple other birders re-found the Palm Warbler at the same place between 4-5pm this afternoon. Shortly after we first saw it, right below where the large trash can liner was stuck in the chain link fence along Highway 58, the bag became unstuck. So...other landmarks in case you want to see if the bird sticks around after the snow tonight is that when walking east on the path flanking the south side of Highway 58 the bird was where the bare wall of the Highway first becomes visible and has some whitish cement on the ground at the base of the wall; there is also a green survey post near that spot (we found the start of the path at Ford and 7th St in Golden). We also saw nearby an Orange Crowned Warbler, a Yellow Rumped Warbler and a Tabby cat stalking the birds.

Hello!

One Palm Warbler continues for a 3rd day (at least) along the Clear Creek Trail just east of Golden today.
The location (39.760985, -105.221082) is about 100 meters east of the junction of the trails under the Highway 58
overpass and frequents a bare weedy area below a big black trash bag caught in the fence above.

Cheers,
Tim Mitzen
