Hey COBirders,
I like to start banding early in August since I noticed a few summers ago that Yellow Warblers are already moving by the end of July here. The wild hail and thunderstorms at Clear Spring Ranch early this morning seem to have caused a wave of migrants to drop in, as I caught 22 Yellow Warblers today (!), mostly young females. No sparrows of any kind are being seen yet, so I am catching what I think are local breeders - Yellow-breasted Chat, House Wrens, Gray Catbird, W Wood Pewees, Com Yellowthroat, - all the adults with pretty heavy molt.
Migration!
