Enjoying a nice mid-April visit to Colorado, we took a walk at Lake Estes in the late afternoon today, April 19. We heard the distinctive musical wing whir of at least two male Broad-tailed Hummingbirds in the gray, windy chill. Checking eBird there are only a handful of April records of Broad-tailed Hummingbird up here in Estes Park over the years. The earliest is one bird on April 18, 2015.
