Hello, Birders.
Hannah and Andrew and I ventured out this hot, dry, dusty afternoon, Sunday, May 4. Felt like July in La Junta.
Lagerman Reservoir had a breeding-plumage Common Loon, a Baird's Sandpiper, a Spotted Sandpiper, and an American Avocet.
Clover Basin Reservoir had a Willet, 3 Semipalmated Plovers, avocets, and many ducks, especially Buffleheads and scaup. Two of the scaup were a nice pair (drake and hen) of Greater Scaup.
Boulder Reservoir had no parking, very high water, and a plethora of port-a-potties all along the perimeter road. FOY Western Kingbird and not much else.
