This morning a dozen Western Cattle Egrets were found roosting in a large willow tree just off of Highway 550 in Ridgway (https://ebird.org/checklist/S283155757). Egrets of any type are tough to find in Ouray County, so I was pleasantly surprised and pleased to see them. These cattle egrets became my 250th Ouray County bird species, a milestone I had hoped to accomplish before the end of the 2025.
