Sandhill Crane- local reports of large flocks calling while flying over Woodland Park in late March

Midland Hills E of Buena Vista on 3-22, 2 flocks heard working their way north up Buena Vista valley, one flock was about 40, in V formation, also circling, playing

Clark's Nutcracker-

Midland Hills E of Buena Vista on 3-22, juvenile, calling, also had juvs here last March, did some research and discovered that Nutcrackers may nest very early, in Jan. and Feb., feeding their nestlings regurgitated seeds from their seed caches.


American Crow-

Mountain Bluebird-

Western Bluebird- 2 on 3-30

American Robin- FOS on 3-7, 8 on 3-23, sing

Song Sparrow-

Manitou Lake on 3-21, sing



Dark-eyed Junco- 


Gray-headed- partial albino returned and was around some of the time,  flock of 22 on 3-24, 20 on 3-25


Pink-sided- small flocks around most of the time, 10 on 3-13 and 3-14

Lovell Gulch on 3-28


Oregon- a few around most of the time, 6 on 3-13, last seen on 3-29


Slate-colored- one or two around most of the time


White-winged- a couple sightings, last seen on 3-8


Red-winged Blackbird-

Lake George on 3-4, sing

Manitou Lake on 3-21, sing


Evening Grosbeak- a few sightings of small flocks


Pine Siskin- a few sightings


Cassin's Finch- small flocks around most of the time, 8 on 3-14


Rosy-Finch- After the big snowstorm in mid-March, deep snow on the Peak resulted in many sightings of large flocks, some numbering in the hundreds, from Cripple Creek and Victor but also farther from the Peak in yard areas along Edlowe Road west of Woodland Park and even extending to north of Divide.


Red Crossbill- 2 on 3-18, 3-21

South Platte River near Lake George on 3-4, 12

House Sparrow- a few around some of the time



Abert's Squirrel- 3-12, 3-29

South Platte River near Lake George on 3-13, gray phase (dark gray)


Mountain Lion-

Midland Hills E of Buena Vista on 3-22, deer kill zone


Frittilary Butterfly

Midland Hills E of Buena Vista on 3-22


Lizards-

Midland Hills E of Buena Vista on 3-22, a few
