[cobirds] PHOTO REQUEST - Showcase your best photos from winter in Colorado Birds!

Colorado Birds is seeking photographs for the summer issue, which will be published just ahead of the Annual Convention this July at the Copper Mountain Resort in coordination with WFO.

Please send us your high resolution photos of rare or unusual sightings taken from December 2022 to February 2023, and be sure to include the date and location along with your name so that we can give you credit!

Of particular interest for this issue are the following:

Bohemian Waxwings! We will likely feature a Bohemian on the cover, so if you have good pics from last winter's irruption, this is your chance! (Hint: we look for images in crisp focus with minimal background stuff like branches, etc. and room at the top for the journal name. See past issues for examples.)

Eurasian Wigeon
Mexican Duck
Shorebirds
Western Gull
Short-billed Gull
Great Black-bscked Gull
Glaucous-winged Gull
Yellow-billed Loon
Pacific Loon
Pacific Wren
Sedge Wren
Varied Thrush
Cassia Crossbill
Golden-crowned Sparrow
Warblers
Northern Cardinal

Please send photos to editor@cobirds.org by June 8.

Photo Submission Guidelines:

Photos from August - October 2022

Photos must be your own, taken in Colorado from Dec. 2022-Feb. 2023. By submitting photos, you give Colorado Birds permission to reproduce in any issue and on the CFO website. We always credit images with the photographer's name.

Please use the following naming convention: American Robin (or AMRO) -20191004-Chatfield-Adams-JJAudubon.

Minimum quality for interior publication use is 750 x 900 pixels. To be considered for the journal cover, photos must be at least 2625 pixels (vertically) x 1725 pixels (horizontally). Please send original files in the largest resolution possible (300 dpi is preferable). We will crop and resize as needed.

Best,

Peter Burke
