Re: [cobirds] Summer Tanager - Barr Lake- Adams CO

Almost certain we just refound this Summer Tanager. Just north of the banding station this time, in a clump of trees near the path. A little south of the bench.

It had a mostly red head (pale, not the brilliant red of adults), a thicker bill than Western Tanager, darker wings and yellow below the wings. My wife spotted it and we only got a quick glimpse at about 9:10 as it stood on some higher branches. It then dived down to the foliage below and we haven't relocated it.
