Hi all,
I heard today from the compiler of the Summit County Christmas Bird
Count. The count was scheduled last Friday, the day, the Purple
Sandpiper was found, though the count didn't occur that day
unfortunately. The count is now scheduled for early January, which
means the Purple Sandpiper will have to stick around for a while, for
it to be counted on a Colorado Christmas Bird Count.
The bird seemed pretty happy today, feeding in the warm water along
the inlet! What an incredible find, hopefully the finders will write
up about how they discovered it in the CFO Journal, once the CBRC
accepts this bird, as a first state record.
