ARCHULETA COUNTY:

--A COMMON GROUND DOVE was reported by DeFonso at Navajo SP at the Wildlife overlook off Hwy 151 as you head south from US 160 (about 20 miles) on June 19.

BOULDER COUNTY:

--A Black Phoebe was reported by Sheeter at the 75th St Bridge over Boulder Creek on June 22.

DELTA COUNTY:

--Purple Martins were reported by Morris on Hwy 65 near mile marker 23 on June 20.

DOUGLAS COUNTY:

--A Scott's Oriole was reported by Bea Weaver at Dawson Butte Open Space on June 17.  The bird was near the

trail head in scrub oak.

DOUGLAS/JEFFERSON COUNTIES:

--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Suddjian at Kingfisher Bridge at Chatfield SP on June 16.

--At Chatfield SP on June 16, Suddjian reported 3 male Indigo Buntings (2 S of Gravel Pond, 1 immediately S of Plate River Parking Lot). 

GILPIN COUNTY:

--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Kaempfer at Snowline Lake area W of CO 119 on CR 12 on June 14.

GRAND COUNTY:

--On June 14, a calling BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER was reported by Pease NW of Kremmling near Service Creek Trail Head.

JACKSON COUNTY:

--On June 18, Hundertmark reported that the pair of Red-necked Grebes continues incubating egg(s) on Lake John.  On June 22, Mlodinow reported one Red-necked Grebe on Lake John.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:

--A Blue-winged Warbler was reported by Jones at Welchester Tree Grant Park on May 22.  On June 15, Mlodinow reported that the Blue-winged Warbler continues to sing at the east end of the park.  On June 16, the Blue-winged Warbler was reported on eBird.  Leatherman reported the Blue-winged Warbler on June 16 at Welchester Tree Park.

On June 22, the Blue-winged Warbler was reported on eBird.

--On June 21, Suddjian reported hearing Ovenbirds at Reynold's Ranch Open Space and in Deer Creek Canyon down High Grade Road, South Deer Creek Road and West Deer Creek Road.

LOGAN COUNTY:

--On June 17, Vanderpoel reported Field Sparrows near Tamarack Pond.

--On June 17, Vanderpoel reported Bell's Vireos at hedgerow at Red Lion.

MESA COUNTY:

--A pair of Purple Martins were reported by Korte near the end of Brush Creek Road east of Collbran on June 18.  

--An American Three-toed Woodpecker was reported by Korte near the base of S Mamm Peak on June 18.

MONTROSE COUNTY:

--On June 19, Dexter reported at there was a good show of both male and female LESSER NIGHTHAWKS at the Nucla sewer lagoons west of town.

SEDGWICK COUNTY:

--A basic plummaged Pacific Loon was reported by Vanderpoel in the middle of Jumbo Reservoir on June 17.

YUMA COUNTY:

--At Hale Crossing, NE corner of CR MM and CR 4 on June 17, Mlodinow reported a singing Summer Tanager and an  imm Magnolia Warbler in worn plumage.

--At Hale Ponds on June 17, Mlodinow reported 10 Great Crested Flycatchers, Red-bellied Woodpecker, and 2 Green Heron.

DFO Field Trips:

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, June 28 will be to Lair O' The Bear Park led by Karleen Schofield (303-936-8661). 

Limit 10 people. RSVP leader after June 10.  
Meet leader at 0700 at the park.  From Morrison drive 4 miles west on Hwy 74 to park entrance on the left.  Trails are narrow in places with approximately 200 ft elevation gain and loss on the loop away from and above Bear Creek.  Wear walking shoes and expect to share the trail with runners, bikers, and horses.  There are composting toilets near the parking lot.  This is a half-day trip of 2.5 to 3 miles.  Bring water, sunscreen, snacks, and binocs.  It will be chilly at 0700 but not later.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, June 29 will be to Cherry Creek State Park led by Karen von Saltza (303-941-4881).  Limit 20 participants, Preregister with leader.  

Join leader at 0800 on east side of Cherry Creek SP.  Enter on east side and work our way SW around the reservoir.  Enter at EAST entrance from South Parker Road.  Go past the entrance kiosk and take the first left turn.  Continue on this road past the east boat ramp and turn left to the "East Shades, Picnic Shelters" located on the east shore of the lake.  Trip will start here.  Walking will be less than 2 miles on relatively flat trails.  Lunch is optional. State Parks pass and additional fee required.  Daily fee is $9.  Bring scopes, binocs, water, snacks, hat, and dress for predicted weather. This is a half-day trip.
