My wife, Heather, texted me today to tell me she had a Rufous Hummingbird at the feeder at her office in Durango. After telling beginning birders time after time that Rufous Hummingbirds don't show up here until July, I was not sure what to expect. But sure enough, at about 6:30 PM the bird came in again. Definitely looked like a male Rufous Hummingbird. My only question is, with such an odd date, is Allen's Hummingbird a possibility? She has a photo of the bird if desired.
