[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Banding Station Report, 9/3/24

A hot, muggy day, but the Wilson's Warblers didn't care......banded 32 today.  Looking at the data for the past 5 years, this is basically a WIWA week.......the average is 136 for the week and no other species is close.  If today is any indication, we can beat that average.

Banded a total of 38 birds today, plus caught a Black-capped Chickadee that we banded last year:

Black-capped Chickadee 1, banded 2023 at the Nature Center during a training session
White-breasted Nuthatch 1
Gray Catbird 1 (FOS)
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 1
Wilson's Warbler 32
Brewer's Sparrow 1
American Goldfinch 1

We are banding Tuesday through Sunday mornings (closed Mondays).  There is a public session most weekday mornings from 7:30-8:30, and three time slots on weekends, at 8, 9, and 10 a.m. There is a $7 fee and registration is required – click here to register!

Let me know if you have any questions,
