[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Banding Station Report, 9/4/24

Week 3 at this station is a Wilson's Warbler week.  The average per year over the last 5 years for Week 3 is 136, with a high in 2020 of 298, low in 2022 of 70.  (The next highest species is House Wren, with a measly average of 15.)  With 32 WIWAs yesterday and 27 today, we are on track to hit the average.

In total, we banded 44 birds today:

Willow Flycatcher 3
Hammond's Flycatcher 1 (FOS)
Rock Wren 1
House Wren 5
American Robin 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
MacGillivray's Warbler 2
Wilson's Warbler 27
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Green-tailed Towhee 1
Chipping Sparrow 1

We are banding Tuesday through Sunday mornings (closed Mondays).  There is a public session most weekday mornings from 7:30-8:30, and three time slots on weekends, at 8, 9, and 10 a.m. There is a $7 fee and registration is required – click here to register!
