Dear COBirders,
First, thank you so much to the ~50 folks who turned out for yesterday's open house at ABA HQ in the Springs yesterday. It was really wonderful seeing you and having the chance to visit a bit.
On to other things: the brand new American Birding Association Field Guide to Birds of Colorado, authored by--who else?--Colorado birding evangelist extraordinaire Ted Floyd is out and it is lovely, if I may say so (full disclosure: I had little to do with the actual production of the book beyond writing the foreword). Designed not as an advanced guide to the seemingly insoluble ID puzzles that Ted so loves but rather as an accessible and authoritative introduction to Colorado's birds, the book will be a valuable and helpful resource to many. After all, Ted also loves encouraging newer birders, as any reader of COBirds can attest.
You can find more information on the book here: http://www.buteobooks.com/product/ABAFGCO.html
There various opportunities coming up for Colorado birders to meet the author and have him sign your book, including:
