Hello, birders. If you need one last summertime experience in the mountains before heading east for the CFO convention, I hope you'll participate in one or more bird walks in and around Telluride, San Miguel County, this coming weekend, Aug. 23-24.The kickoff event starts at Between the Covers, a bookstore in town, Saturday morning, Aug. 23rd. From the bookstore, we'll search for birds in and around town, and, yes, we'll look for the Pacific Wren discovered earlier this summer by Derek Lovitch and Jeannette Lovitch. Details on the bird walk here:Other weekend bird walks in San Miguel County will be sponsored by The Nature Conservancy in Colorado. Please contact me offline if you're interested, and I'll supply additional info.Hope to see some of you this weekend in Telluride!Oh, and give yourself a few hours for the drive from Telluride to Sterling... :-)Ted FloydLafayette, Boulder County, Colorado
