Banded 69 birds yesterday, plus recaught 19 that had been banded in prior days, and 2 (a Chickadee and American Goldfinch) that had been banded in prior years.
-- The CANADA WARBLER continues to hang around; he was caught again mid-morning. In the last 24 hours, he has added fat and gained weight (from 9.4 to 10.7 grams), and we are hoping he will continue his migration soon.
Here's the breakdown of the new birds for the day:
Dusky Flycatcher 2
House Wren 7
Orange-crowned Warbler 7
Yellow Warbler 10
Townsend's Warbler 3
Wilson's Warbler 33
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Chipping Sparrow 6
We are closed today (Sunday, 8/31) and tomorrow (Labor Day); open Tuesday, closed Wednesday. Then we begin our regular schedule, open 5 days per week (Tues through Sat), closed Sun and Mon.
