Hello,

Unfortunately late yesterday afternoon (8/28) at 6 pm a female Paradise tanager escaped from the Bird World building at the Denver zoo. Zoo staff did observe the bird several times during the next couple of hours then could not observe it due to night fall.

We began early this morning looking for the bird and one person may have seen it in close proximity to its last sighting from the previous evening, but a second sighting did not occur to confirm the original re-sighting from this morning.

Attached please find a picture of this 4-5 inch long tanager. So birders in the Denver City Park or Park Hill area please be advised if they observe this bird please contact me at (720) 337-1514.

Thanks for your assistance.

John
