Migration is in full force in Lakewood the past couple of days!! It seems that as soon as the nesting Cooper's Hawks left the neighborhood things heated up. Below is the birds seen in our small suburban yard the last couple of days:
Western Tanager--8
Western Wood Pewee-3
Chipping Sparrows--lots
Red-breasted Nuthatch--6 Irruption year??
Gray Catbird
Bullock's Oriole-2
Western Scrub Jays--5
House Wren-2 Our nesting pair has been gone for weeks
Mountain Chickadee--Nested for the second straight year in the yard!
Calliope(only females now)
Rufous(only female/imm now)
Black-chinned (lots of male and female)
Broad-tailed (lots of male and female)
grackles(large flocks already !!)
plus all the regulars
