If you haven't signed up for Joey Kellner's trip to Jackson and Prewitt Reservoirs tomorrow, maybe there's still time!
I led a group out to those to stops today with pretty good success. Jackson (along with Andrick) had good shorebirds, but mainly in the NW corner (a la David Dowell on Wednesday) including Buff-breasted, Pectoral, Stilt and Western Sandpipers, Wilson's and Red-necked Phalaropes. Black necked Stilts, both Yellowlegs and Long-billed Dowitcher were at Andrick and Solitary Sandpiper in the inlet canal.
On to Prewitt were even at noon the inlet canal had some good stuff including Great-crested Flycatcher, Cassin's Vireo and calling Eastern Screech Owl. The mud flats at Prewitt continue to be great with Marbled Godwit, Semi-palmated Sandpiper, Semi-palmated, Stilt, Least Sandpipers, American Avocet as well as a Common Tern.
We are taking a break in Sterling right now before on to North Sterling State Park this evening, and then Jumbo and Julesburg tomorrow.
