Today when we were leaving our house to take our dog to the vet, we noticed a raptor sitting on the neighbors utility pole. We were in a hurry, so couldn't investigate. When we came back from our appt., the raptor was still on the pole, & we noticed it was eating something. We ran to get our binoculars, & camera. Lo & behold, it was an Osprey, dining on a fish. I got several pictures, & at one point it took off, circled around our neighbors house, & back to the same pole, called a few times, after landing. Black-billed Magpies were harassing it, & after a few more minutes, it left flying west. We think it was a juvenile, as it had some white scaling on its back.
