Re: [cobirds] American Dipper on Monument Creek (El Paso County)

That is good news for the water quality in Monument Creek (in that area) as American Dippers have been used as indicators of water quality in streams.

<For the past few weeks I have been biking fairly regularly along Monument Creek near downtown Colorado Springs in hopes of an american dipper with little success. This afternoon, however, having not checked in a few days, I took a quick ride along the creek and very quickly found one! I spent a while with the bird moving slowly upstream towards the Mesa Rd. bridge (below Colorado College campus). It disappeared around dark near the cascades just south of the bridge. Hopefully it sticks around!>
