[cobirds] American Dipper on Monument Creek (El Paso County)

Hello COBirders,

For the past few weeks I have been biking fairly regularly along Monument Creek near downtown Colorado Springs in hopes of an american dipper with little success. This afternoon, however, having not checked in a few days, I took a quick ride along the creek and very quickly found one! I spent a while with the bird moving slowly upstream towards the Mesa Rd. bridge (below Colorado College campus). It disappeared around dark near the cascades just south of the bridge. Hopefully it sticks around!

Also in the area recently have been a male belted kingfisher, an intermediate red-tailed hawk, a kinglet, and lots of song sparrows and juncos.

Happy Trails,
Lee Farese
