Hello, Birders.
In an act of unprecedented extreme clemency, I have decided to alter the starting time for the Boulder Bird Club (BBC) outing on Sunday, August 12th. Contrary to what appears in the BBC newsletter, our outing will begin at the decadently late hour of 3:00 a.m.
Our meeting location is undisclosed. Please contact me, and I will tell you where we will meet. I can tell you that our meeting place will be in eastern Boulder County near US-287. We will have a fantastic time! Bring your own beer, orange slices, and acai berries. Our diverse objectives include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Listen to nocturnal-migrant Chipping Sparrows and perhaps other early-season migrants.
2. Listen to shorebirds, including maybe even Upland Sandpipers.
3. Watch the glorious Perseids meteor shower.
4. Avoid the gendarmes.
5. Listen for Barn Owls, smell skunks, talk about insects, ponder astrophysics, and have an all-out wonderful time.
This outing is free and open to the public. Birders of all skill levels and interest levels are welcome. This outing is especially suitable for children and nonbirder curiosity-seekers; it is also suitable for persons with limited mobility.
RSVP REQUIRED. Please contact me by e-mail (tedfloyd57@hotmail.com), and please indicate in the subject line "AUG. 12TH BBC OUTING"--just like that, all caps.
More info on the outing can be found here, in the July-September 2012 BBC newsletter (scroll down to the last page):

See you on August 12th!
