Just west of downtown we had a really high flock that sounded like a small flock of a dozen or so cranes heading south about 30 minutes ago. Too high to see in this light. In the space of the 90 seconds that we were trying to hear and see them, 4 different commercial jets fly over, drowning out everything else. The moment the jet noise abated a train whistle sounded and then --- no more cranes calling. Welcome to birding-by-ear in urban Denver. That said, we normally start our mornings soaking old bones in the hottub with coffee listening to the morning serenade of nuthatches, robins, blue jays, chickadee and our neighborhood flicker. They were joined by a pair of noisy Spotted Towhees in the plum above the hot tub. Nice start to the day.

Hello
I just had about 27 Sandhill Cranes flyover my house going south. I am just north of Bear Creek Lake Park.
