[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Banding Report, 10/6/24

This is a tardy report on yesterday's banding activity.  We had a great second day for the teens who participated in our first ever "banding camp", which provided a small group of teen birders with the opportunity to learn more about how a banding station is run, what information is collected, what we need to know about each species, etc.  Here are the 38 new birds that were banded:

Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
Hermit Thrush 3
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Spotted Towhee 1
Song Sparrow 5
Lincoln's Sparrow 3
White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 17
Dark-eyed Junco, Slate-colored 1
Dark-eyed Junco, Oregon 5
Dark-eyed Junco, Pink-sided 1

Weather permitting, we are banding Tuesday through Sunday mornings (closed Mondays).  There is a public session most weekday mornings from 7:30-8:30, and three time slots on weekends, at 8, 9, and 10 a.m. (although not this weekend, as we are doing a special training program).  There is a $7 fee and registration is required – click here to register!

Let me know if you have any questions,
