We did not open on Saturday, as the ground and bushes (and nets) were wet at opening time and the report was for continued cloudy and cool conditions all morning.
Then today, we woke to clear skies and tolerable temperatures and thought, great! But an unpleasant surprise awaited us at Barr - the entire park area was covered in a dense fog, and as the fog lifted a bit, the temp began to drop. We opened a few nets for a brief period, then gave up. 4 birds banded:
White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 1
White-crowned Sparrow, Mountain 1
Dark-eyed Junco, Oregon 2
Two more banding days (Tuesday and Wednesday). Can't wait to see what mother nature has in store for us!
