[cobirds] Lake Dillon, Summit County

8/12/18 - Sunday on Lake Dillon

American White Pelican
Non-breeding; which I'm told can be seen anywhere but it still was quite stunning.  I then also saw one skimming over the surface of the lake;  huge wing span.  At first I thought, "hmmmmmm. that''s quite a huge gull."  But it certainly was NOT a gull.  Black-tipped wings, etc.

Cormorants - pair

8/10/18 - Friday
American Avocet (1) - looked pretty small; perhaps a juvenile?  Then, an hour later when I had a camera it was gone.
