---On August 13 at Sage Creek Park, Adam Veseley reported 3 Bushtit.
---On August 14 at Barr Lake SP, Tuesday Birders reported Plumbeous Vireo.
ALAMOSA COUNTY:
---On August 6, Bill Harris and Jon Horn reported a Black Rail at Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge (this bird is rare for this county). The bird was seen from the Bluff Overlook picnic shelter, looking to the north-northwest.
ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
---On August 6 Frank and Nancy Hatch reported a TRICOLORED HERON at a pond at the corner of Havana and Alameda. The bird was seen at 8:50, but not on a return trip at 12:30. Lowry wetlands would be closest appropriate nearby habitat for anyone trying to re-find the bird.
---On August 11 at South Platte Park, Cynthia Madsen reported 3 Hooded Merganser on Eagle Watch Lake.
---On August 12 at Cherry Creek SP Wetlands Preserve, Mary Burger and her DFO Field Trip reported a Brown Creeper.
---On August 13 at Cherry Creek Trail—East Arapahoe Rd to E Lakeview Rd, Ben Sampson reported 5 Cassin's Sparrows.
---On August 13 at Cherry Creek SP Marina and Dam Trail, Ben Sampson reported young Mew Gull which did not appear well.
ARCHULETA COUNTY:
---On August 14 on San Juan River Walk in Pagosa Springs, Lindell Dillon reported 2 Mexican Ducks and American Three-toed Woodpecker.
BROOMFIELD COUNTY:
---On August 7, Matt Hofeditz reported a Gray Flycatcher at W 134th place in Broomfield County (this bird is rare for this county).
CHAFFEE COUNTY:
---On August 4, Jack Harlan reported a male Golden-Winged Warbler in Fairview Cemetery near Salida (this bird is rare for this county). The bird was seen in the northern/western part of the cemetery, in willows/poplars and was about 40-50 feet up in the canopy.
DOUGLAS COUNTY/JEFFERSON COUNTY (Chatfield SP)
—On August 8 Glenn Walbek reported a Black Phoebe at Chatfield SP, near the end of the sand spit. On August 10, Logan Kahle reported a Black Phoebe at Chatfield SP at Plum Creek delta (39.5403782, -105.0529352)(this bird is rare for this county)
---On August 13 at Castlewood Canyon SP, Karen Metz reported 2 Cassin's Vireo.
EL PASO COUNTY:
---On August 11 at Ramah Reservoir SWA, David Tonnessen and Jim Merritt reported Least Flycatcher, 5 Cassin's Kingbirds, Eastern Bluebird and Dickcissel.
---On August 11 at Chico Basin Ranch, David Tonnessen reported 2 Ladder-backed Woodpeckers and 2 Curve-billed Thrashers.
---On August 12 at Clear Spring Ranch, Steve Brown banded an ad Red-eyed Vireo. On August 13 at Clear Spring Ranch, Steve Brown banded a Northern Waterthrush.
---On August 12 at Adams Open Space, Tim Leppek reported 3 Mississippi Kites. On August 13 at Adams Open Space, Adam Veseley reported Mississippi Kite.
---On August 13 at 70 Otowi Dr, Colorado Springs, Julia Wittman reported 6 Mississippi Kites.
GUNNISON COUNTY:
---On August 12 on Hwy 38, Christoph Moning and Julia Whitman reported 16 Lark Bunting and 2 Woodhouse's Scrub-Jay.
JEFFERSON COUNTY:
---On August 12 at Chatfield SP Deer Creek, Daniel Horton reported Eastern Phoebe.
---On August 13 at Chatfield SP Audubon Center, James Bozeman reported Eastern Phobe.
---On August 14 at Bear Creek Lake Park Pelican Point, Myron Gerhard and Frank Farrell reported Merlin.
KIOWA COUNTY:
---On August 4 Steve Mlodinow reported a female MOTTLED DUCK at Neegronda Reservoir, seen from the upper boat launch at the end of Kiowa Co Rd C (where it hits the east side). Reported to be the same bird first seen by Steve and Tony Leukering on July 22. On August 5, the MOTTLED DUCK was last seen by Cici and Suke Lee at about 3:30. The MOTTLED DUCK was reported on August 6 by John Drummond and others, initially along the shore north of the upper boat ramp, later in the northeast corner of the reservoir. This is only the second state record.
---On August 4, Steve Mlodinow reported a LESSER NIGHTHAWK (male) at Upper Queens/Neeskah reservoir, which flushed from the ground in tamarisk along the northwest side of the reservoir.
---On August 4, Steve Mlodinow reported 2 NEOTROPICAL CORMORANTS (one adult, one subadult) at the pond near the southeast corner of Neenoshee reservoir. On August 9, John Drummond and three others reported the birds at the same location, with the adult feeding the immature bird. On August 11 at SE Corner of Neenoshee Reservoir, Gwen Moore and Dean Shoup reported NEOTROPIC CORMORANT; Logan Kahle reported NEOTROPIC CORMORANT. On August 14 at Neenoshe Reservoir, SE Corner, David Tonnessen reported NEOTROPIC CORMORANT.
---On August 6, John Drummond and others reported a flyover TRICOLORED HERON at Neegronda Reservoir. The bird was seen heading south.
---On August 11 at Neegronda Reservoir, Steve Mlodinow reported female Mallard (Mexican). On August 14 at Neegronda Reservoir, Nathan Pieplow reported 2 Upland Sandpipers (heard), 11 Black Tern, Tree Swallow, and Dickcissel.
---On August 11 at Neenoshe Reservoir, Steve Mlodinow and Dave Ely reported m Mexican Duck and 2 NEOTROPIC CORMORANTS (1 ad, and 1 sub ad). On August 13 at Neenoshe Reservoir, SE Cornewr, Nathan Pieplow reported 3 NEOTROPIC CORMORANTS.
---On August 11 at Upper Queens/Neeskah Reservoir, Logan Kahle reported 2 Piping Plovers and Lesser Black-backed Gull. On August 13 at Neeskah Reservoir, Nathan Pipelow reported Lesser Black-backed Gull

---On August 12 at 1812 – 1856 Hwy 3 near Durango, Ryan Votta reported Cassin's Kingbird.
---On August 14 at Animas River – US 160 High Bridge to River Road, Jim Beatty reported Nashville Warbler.
LARIMER COUNTY:
---On July 17 through 24 at Soapstone Prairie NA Andy Bankert reported 5 BAIRD'S SPARROWS. Andy observed nestlings, representing the first documented breeding record of this species in Colorado! This exciting news was released by Bird Conservancy of the Rockies. On July 24 in Meadow Pasture at Soapstone, Andy found 3 singing males and an adult feeding 3 young. On August 3, David Chernak reported 9 BAIRD'S SPARROWS (4 singing) at Soapstone Prairie Natural Area. On August 6, Andy Bankert reported 4 BAIRD'S SPARROWS (which were not banded) at Soapstone Natural Area.
---On August 11 at East Longs Peak Trail, Sam Heinrich reported 2 American Three-toed Woodpeckers and male Townsend's Warbler.
---On August 11 at Timnath Reservoir, Christopher Murray reported Greater White-fronted Goose and 3 Caspian Tern; Andy Bankert and Caroline Olson reported Semipalmated Plover. On August 13 at Timnath Reservoir, Joe Mammoser reported 1 imm Black Tern; Nick Komar and Nick Komar Jr reported Greater White-fronted Goose and Cackling Goose. On August 14 at Timnath Reservoir, Dave Leatherman reported Caspian Tern.

---On August 11 in Cortez on power line at South Second and Market, Dennis Garrison reported White-winged Dove.
OTERO COUNTY
---On August 4, Kathy Mihm-Dunning reported 2 ZONE-TAILED HAWKS (1 adult and 1 second year) on Higbee Road, near the location where Vogel Canyon comes in to the road. There is a bridge at this location which is fairly well marked on Google maps. The birds were last seen heading north with some Turkey Vultures. On August 11 at Higbee Valley Road (CR 804), Nick Moore reported 12 Mississippi Kites, imm Zone-tailed Hawk, 2 Greater Roadrunners, 10 Red-headed Woodpeckers, Ladder-backed Woodpecker, 3 Eastern Phoebe, Cassin's Kingbird, Chihuahuan Raven, 4 Black-throated Sparrows, 6 Rufous-crowned Sparrows, Hepatic Tanager, and 3 Painted Bunting. On August 11 at Higbee Valley Road (CR 804), Steve Mlodinow and Dave Ely reported 2nd year Zone-tailed Hawk and 6 White-throated Swifts.
On August 12 at Higbee Valley Road (CR 804), Art Hudak, Gwen Moore, Dean Shoup, Kevin Ash, Glenn Walbek, Steve Larson, and John Drummond reported ZONE-TAILED HAWK, 2 Greater Roadrunner, 10 Red-headed Woodpeckers, Ladderback Woodpecker, 6 Chihuahuan Ravens, Black-throated Sparrow, Rufous-crowned Sparrow, and 4 Painted Buntings (1 ad m, 1 ad f, 2 imm). On August 13 at Higbee Vally Road (CR 804), Nathan Pieplow, Tyler Stewart, Norm Erthal, John Drummond, Jeannie Mitchell, Jacqueline Heyda, and Roger Massey reported ZONE-TAILED HAWK, Greater Roadrunner, 3 Yellow-billed Cuckoo, 4 Ladder-backed Woodpecker, 10 Red-headed Woodpecker, 4 Mississippi Kites, Rufous-crowned Sparrow, 4 Painted Bunting, Eastern Phoebe, 6 Black-throated Sparrow, Cassin's Kingbird, Chihuahuan Rave, Curve-billed Thrasher, and Hepatic Tanager. On August 14 at Higbee Valle Road (CR 804), Brandon Percival reported Painted Buntings (ad m, ad f, imm), f Summer Tanager, 2 Greater Roadrunner, Ladder-backed Woodpecker, Mississippi Kites.
