There was a good arrival of warblers this morning at Clear Spring Ranch, with 13 Wilson's Warblers, 1 juv M MacGillivray's, a juv M Com Yellowthroat, and 2 adult Northern Waterthrush banded (#10,11 this month). Chipping Sparrows also moved in force from the fields to the woods, and 25 were banded as well.
Today was the first DRY day, where it was wet from dew at opening, but everything dried out quickly, nets stretched, and it wasn't humid. 85o by 11:00.
I've banded over 400 birds so far this month, more warblers than usual for August, but decidedly fewer sparrows, grosbeaks, and buntings.
Good birding,
