A few nice birds continue today, Painted Buntings (adult male, female and immatures), Summer Tanager (female), Eastern Bluebirds, Greater Roadrunner (2), Ladder-backed Woodpecker, and variety of raptors, Mississippi Kites, Peregrine and Prairie Falcons, Swainson's and Red-tailed Hawks, Northern Harriers, American Kestrels. All of these seen about 3.5 miles from the pavement, west of Hwy 109, about 24 miles south of La Junta, in southern Otero County, in SE Colorado. I was there from before sunrise to 1pm, and I wasn't able to see the Zone-tailed Hawk (someday I will find my own one in Colorado, hopefully).
