Hey, all.
-- I enjoyed a nice morning at Greenlee Preserve & environs, Boulder County, earlier today, Saturday, Aug. 25, with a birding group organized by the City of Lafayette. We found 50 species of birds, including 3 Wood Ducks, 2 Black-chinned Hummingbirds, 1 Sora, 3 Snowy Egrets, 1 Peregrine Falcon, 1 Western Wood-Pewee (a migrant), 2 Western Kingbirds (also migrants), 1 Bushtit (just the one!), 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch, 1 Cedar Waxwing, 4 Lesser Goldfinches, 8 Chipping Sparrows (molt migrants), 1 Brewer's Sparrow (a migrant), and 8 Wilson's Warblers (migrants). Saw a striped skunk and lots of cool insects.
Thanks to the City of Lafayette for promoting birding as an activity for the whole community!
