Hi COBirders,
The clear skies and light winds brought some migrants to Chico Basin Ranch this morning, mostly in two waves. At dawn there were Wilson's Warblers everywhere, then it died down for a while, then about 9:00 another wave arrived, with mixed warblers and sparrows.
Another big day, with 107 new banded birds. That makes about 1350 total for the season, our second best fall ever.
Bird-of-the-Day was Plumbeous Vireo (FOS, actually three of them) and a FOS Pink-sided Junco. The junco seems early, especially when we are still catching Yellow Warblers, which seem real late! It has been a strange season at CBR.
Good Birding,
