Slow day…….Very few new arrivals. Continued to feel the move into fall, catching our first White-crowned Sparrows. Here’s the breakdown:
Northern Flicker Intergrade 1 (Beautiful more-yellow-than-orange wings and tail, but red-shafted in most other respects)
Black-capped Chickadee 2 (Both returns, caught side-by-side in the same net, and both banded on 9/2/11. Do BCCHs mate for life?! BFFs?!)
House Wren 2
Hermit Thrush 1
Gray Catbird 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 1
Wilson’s Warbler 2
White-crowned Sparrow,Gambel’s 2 (FOS)
Open Sunday and Monday, closed Tuesday, then open daily through 10/13 EXCEPT for 10/4 and 10/7.
