A bit pricey though. These use the Merlin phone app.

Subject: [cobirds] Bird ID Binoculars
A few years ago I read an article about the future of birding. In it, they talked about binoculars that would identify birds in the viewscreen, probably using latest technologies to reasonable identify the bird you are seeing. A cousin of mine and I were having a conversation yesterday and that item came up to help him solve his color vision deficiencies. I went on-line this morning to find them and cannot find any product that does that. If anyone knows of such a product please let me know. Merry Christmas all.
