Van Truan and I were counting birds for the Pueblo Christmas Bird Count yesterday, and found this "Carolina" White-breasted Nuthatch in Blende, Pueblo County. This is a first for this Christmas Bird Count. Maybe more of them will be found on Front Range Christmas Bird Counts. They are the expected subspecies at Bonny, and the NE Colorado CBCs. If you find White-breasted Nuthatches on Colorado Christmas Bird Counts, make sure to note which subspecies, since they can be reported separately on the CBC Website. I haven't seen one list yet, though I think the Pueblo CBC got to 97 species yesterday, a juvenile Northern Goshawk was photographed by one of the parties, and saw those photos, late last night.
