Did anyone have any luck re-finding the Carolina Wren in Wetmore, that Alec Hopping found on Thursday? I drove through there, listening on both Friday early morning, and Saturday late afternoon, and didn't hear it. Hopefully it is somewhere around there still.
There was a singing Carolina Wren early last week, in Pueblo too, that I got an e-mail about. Maybe it was the same bird or maybe there is a mini-invasion going on.
I still had female/immature Calliope and Rufous Hummingbirds in the Wet Mountains at 9,050 feet in elevation, Custer County, yesterday morning. Van Truan was up there Friday night, with his white sheets and black lights, there were still some Moths around, even though a few nights ago, it got down to 35 degrees.
Good birding,
