Hi COBirders,
I, too, was hoping Bryan G would be right about last night's potential movement of birds with the cold front. Banding at Clear Spring Ranch has been slow all month (about 60% of 2013, 2014), but Sunday I had my biggest day of banding so far this season.
Highlights were a CORDILLERAN FLYCATCHER (hatch year), 4 FOS WILSON'S WARBLERS, (all hatch year), and 3 migrant Yellow Warblers (2 were adult males banded May 2014). Also seen briefly was a pair of Cassin's Kingbirds.
It was dead at dawn, but the wind picked up about 9:00, and all-of-a-sudden there were migrants in the willow-side nets.
Hoping it continues!
